Home My WebLink AboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011968 - 1968-274 ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. b8 27 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of the Consolidation of ) the Special District Bond Election to ) ) Be Held in the Crockett-Valona County ) ) Water District with the State of ) California Direct Primary Election to ) ) Be Held June 4 , 1968 ) ) ) WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of Crockett- Valona County Water District has called a special district band election to be held in the District on Tuesday , June 4, 1968 , and has requested the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County to order the con- solidation of said special district bond election with the state of California Direct Primary Election to be held in the State of California and in this County on Tuesday, June 4 , 1968, and has further authorized the Board of Supervisors of this County to canvass or cause to be canvassed the returns of said special district bond election; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County , as follows : REZO LUT I ON NLS M711 R 68/274 1. The special district bund election to be held in Crockett-Valona County Water District on Tuesday , June 4 , 1968, at which there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the District the fallowing district bond measure , to wit : CRCCKETT-VALQNA COUNTY WATER DISTRICT BOND MEASURE » Shall Crockett-Valona County Water District » incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal amount of $830 ,000 for the purpose of the YES " acquisition from Contra Costa County Water . District of the water system now serving the Crockett-Valona County Water District and the construction of additions , extensions ._--�----• and improvements thereto, including pipes , valves , fittings , hydrants , wells, storage facilities , services , meters , lands , ease- » N0 ments , rights of way, and other works , prop- erty or structures useful or necessary for improving said water system? shall be , and the same is hereby ordered to be , consoli- dated with the State of California Direct Primary Election to be held- throughout the State of California, including this County and the District , on Tuesday, June 4 , 1968. It is hereby found and determined that the territory of the District comprises portions of Contra Costa County General Election Precincts Crockett 501, 502 , 50.3, 504 , 505 , 506 and 508, and that the portions of said general election precincts outside the District contain no regis- tered voters . Said portions of said general election 68 /274 2 precincts have been established as special district precincts .for the purpose of said special bund election, and said special band election is hereby consolidated with the State of California Direct Primary Election as to said special district precincts, each of which lies entirely within one of said designated general election precincts. 2. The returns of said special district bond election shall be canvassed or caused to be canvassed by the Board of Supervisors of this County in accordance with the request of the Board of Directors of Crockett- Valona County Water District and said special district band election and said primary election shall be held within the District in all respects as though there were only one election. Said district bond measure herein- above set forth shall be set forth in each form of ballot to be used at said election insofar as the same is held within the District . The returns of said special dis- trict bond election, when canvassed, shall be reported by the Board of Supervisors of this County to the Board of Directors of the .District . 3 . The County Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to provide within the District the election precincts , polling places and voting booths for each of said elections so consolidated, which in each case shall be the same , except as herein otherwise provided, and there shall be only one set of election officers in each of said precincts . The County Clerk is hereby further ordered and directed to print upon each of the ballots to be used at said consolidated primary election and special district bond election said measure hereinabove set forth. The County Clerk is further ordered and directed (a) to set forth on all sample ballots relating to said consolidated elections , to be mailed to the qualified electors of the District , said measure herein- above set forth and to mail with said sample ballots to said electors printed copies of arguments (if any) for and against said measure, and (b ) to provide absent voter ballots for said primary election and said special district bond election consolidated therewith for use by the qualified electors of the District who may be entitled thereto, in the manner provided by law. The County Clerk is further authorized to charge the Dis- trict the additional expense of printing upon the sample and official ballots for use in the District said meas- ure hereinabove set forth to be submitted to the quali- fied electors of the District at said consolidated elections , and such other incidental expenses as may be incurred by reason of this order of consolidation. In the event no non-partisan ballot is to be provided at said election for use within said District , then the County Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause 68 /274 4 to be printed in style and farm required by law a special ballot upon which shall appear the said band measure for use within the District . PAASCH, County Clerk of Contra Costa County, State of California, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of a resolution duly adopted at a regular meeting of the Beard of Supervi- sors of said County duly and regularly and legally held at the regular meeting place thereof on the 30th day of April , 1968 , of which meeting all of the members of said Board of Supervisors had due notice and at which a majority thereof was present ; that at said meeting said resolution was introduced by Supervisor A. M. Dias and read in full, and was thereupon, upon the motion of Supervisor T. J. Coll , seconded by Supervisor R, A. Lina id, , adopted by the fallowing vote: AYES : Supervisors James P . Kenny, James E. Moriarty, Thomas John Call$ Edmund A . Linscheid, Alfred M. Dias. NOES : None. ABSENT: None . That I have carefully compared the same with the original minutes of said meeting on ,file and of record in my office and that said resolution is duly entered of rec- ord in said minutes , and said resolution is a full, true and correct copy of the original resolution adapted at said meeting and entered in said minutes . That said resolution has not been amended, modified or rescinded since the date of its adoption and that the same is now in full force and effect.
