HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011968 - 1968-255 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Extending Appreciation RESOLUTION NUMBER 68/255 for Police Assistance. WHEREAS serious disturbances and a situation of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property developed in the El Pueblo Housing Project, Pittsburg area, on April 16, 1968; and WHEREAS conditions were such as to require the Office of the County Sheriff to invoke police mutual aid provisions and call upon other police agencies for assistance; and WHEREAS the police forces of the Cities of Antioch, Concord, Martinez, Pittsburg and Walnut Creek and the California Highway Patrol responded rapidly and in substantial strength to insure the protection of the law to endangered persons and their property; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVED that it extends to the aforesaid police agencies its sincere thanks for their effective assistance and assures them of its prompt cooperation should any future circumstances require reciprocal action on the part of Contra Costa County. .PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of April, 1968, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, J. E. Moriarty, T. J. Call, E. A. Linscheid, A. M. Dias. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. RESOLUTION NUMBER 680255
