COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Extending ) Compliments and Appreciation ) RESOLUTION NO. 68/198 to Daryle Lamonica. ) WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California has been apprised that Daryle Lamonica has agreed to sponsor an Invitational Golf Tournament for the purpose of raising funds for the Contra Costa Youth Association which has the objective of developing delinquency prevention programs including summer camp experience for underprivileged children? and WHEREAS Daryle Lamonica is widely known as a great athlete and outstanding football player beginning with his participation in sports at Clovis High School, continuing to become one of the famous quarterbacks of the University of Notre Dame, and going on further in professional football for four years with Buffalo in the American Football League and later as quarterback of the Oakland Raiders to lead them to the American Football League Championship in 1967; and WHEREAS this outstanding sports figure, despite demands on his time during football training and regular seasons and employment in the real estate business, has devoted substantial efforts to youth programs in which field of activity he is particularly effective because of his fine reputation on and off the football field3 and WHEREAS sponsorship of said Invitational Golf Tournament by Daryle Lamonica attracts attention to and insures financial support of the desirable objectives of the Contra Costa Youth Associations NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that it extends to Daryle Lamonica its thanks for his assistance to the Contra Costa Youth Association, its compliments on his great record as a football player, and its appreciation for providing throughout his career an outstanding example for youth to follow. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 26th clay of March, 1968 by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors J. E. Moriarty, T. J. Coll, E. A. Linscheid, A. M. Dias. NOES: None. ABSENT: Supervisor J. P.
