NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ENTER INTO OIL AND GAS LEASE
Pursuant to the provisions of Sections 7051 through 7060
of the Public Resources Code , as amended, the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Contra Costa, State of California, RESOLVES in
open meeting, by vote of not less than two-thirds (2/3) of its
members , its intention to enter into an oil and gas lease covering
subsurface rights below 500 feet measured vertically from the sur-
face on the County-owned real property commonly known and de-
scribed as the County Office Building Property in Oakley and more
particularly described as follows:
All of Block 2 (Lots 1 through 12 , inclusive) as
shown on the Amended Map A of the Town of Oakley,
filed March 21, 1903, in Book C of Maps, page 51 ,
Contra Costa County Records .
The general form Oil and Gas Lease which the County pro-
poses to enter into with the successful bidder is on file with
the Department of Public Works , Right of Way Division, County
Administration Building, Martinez, California, and is available
for inspection. The term of the proposed lease is for a primary
lease period of three (3) years at a rental of $120 per year and
for each year in which drilling operations are deferred in the
primary term and for so long thereafter as lessee in good faith
shall conduct drilling, deepening, repairing, redrill.ing or pro-
ducing operations on the said land up to a maximum term of forty
(40) years . Royalty share shall be a minimum of one-eighth (1/8)
of the proceeds . Well spacing: one well to 20 acres for oil
down to 8,000 feet and one well to 40 acres over 8 ,000 feet ; one
well to 640 acres for gas . The variable biddable factor upon
which bids will be received is the royalty share to be paid by
the successful bidder to the County which is hereby fixed at a
minimum of one-eighth (1/8) . Successful bidder shall carry
insurance naming County as co-insured on the following coverage :
Bodily Injury (one person)--$250,000; Bodily Injury (two or more)--
$500,000 ; Property Damage--$250,000 for each occurrence , including
coverage for explosion, blowout , cratering, and damage to under-
ground property; carry workman's compensation; give 10 days '
notice to County of policy cancellation or material change.
Successful bidder shall hold County harmless for bodily injury or
property damage. Successful bidder shall pay costs of publication.

The Clerk of this Board is authorized and directed to
publish this Resolution and Notice once a week for three (3)
successive weeks in the "Diablo Valley News ," a newspaper of
general circulation published in the County of Contra, Costa.
This Board of Supervisors will receive sealed proposals for an
oil and gas lease to be entered into with reference to such
County property, and that bids shall be received by the Clerk of
this Board at his office in the County Administration Building,
Martinez, Contra Costa County , California, until the hour of
10: 00 o' clock a.m. on Tuesday, the 23rd day of April , 1968 .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Contra Costa at an open meeting of said Board held on Pebruary 27,
1968, by vote of not less than two-thirds (2/3) of its members .
