RESOLUTION OF REORGANIZATION BY DETACHMENT OF TERRITORY FROM
THE SAN RAMON FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AND CONCURRENTLY ANNEX
THE SAME TERRITORY TO THE VALLEY COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
Reorganization by detachment of certain territory from the
San Ramon Fire Protection District and concurrent annexation of
the same territory to the Valley Community Services District has
been proposed by Valley Community Services District and by all
owners of Land within the said territory. The application for
the proposed reorganization was filed with the Executive Secretary
of the Local Agency Formation Commission on November 29, 1967.
The reason for the proposed reorganization as stated In the
application, is that the best fire protection can be provided
by the Valley Community Services District as the said territory
would otherwise be subject to dual taxation for such service.
On January 3, 1968, the Local Agency Formation Commission
approved the application under the short form designation "Gentry
No. 5 Reorganization by Detachment and Annexation from the San
Ramon Fire Protection District to the Valley Community Services
District" . The description of the said reorganization territory
is set out in Exhibit 'A" attached hereto and incorporated herein.
The territory of the said reorganization is uninhabited territory.
All the territory herein involved is within Contra Costa County.
The Local Agency Formation Commission approved the proposed
annexation subject to the following terms and conditions :
(a.) The boundaries of the area proposed to be detached
and annexed were amended by this Commission to include
additional territory, the total affected area to be
described as Exhibit "Al=, attached hereto and a part
of this resolution.
(b) Upon annexation of the territory to the Valley Com-
munity Services District, this territory is to be
subject to applicable ordinances of that district.

On January 16, 1968, this Board adapted said Resolution
No. 68/29 initiating proceedings for said proposed reorganization.
Resolution No. 68/29 fixed 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February
20, 1968 as the time for a, public hearing on the proposed re-
organization. Notice of said hearing was duly given by (.1) publi-
cation in the "Valley Pioneer", (2 ) posting on the Board 's
:Bulletin Board, (3) mailing notice to each affected district, each
person who has filed a notice for special notice with the County
Clerk, and the chief petitioners . This Board at the time and
place set for said hearing heard the determination of the Local.
Agency Formation Commission on the proposed reorganization read
aloud, and then called for evidence or protests as provided for
by Government Code Section 56434, and no protests were made
either orally or in writing by any person or taxpayer. The
Board concluded the hearing on October 17, 1967.
This Board hereby finds that the said proposed reorgani-
zation will be in the best interests of the people of said San
Ramon Fire Protection District and Valley Community Services
District. This Board hereby orders and declares the aforesaid
reorganization, pursuant to Government Code Section 56322 with-
out election as insufficient written protests for the same have
been filed.
The Clerk of this Board is hereby directed to file his
certificate of completion with the Secretary of State in accord-
ance with Government Code Section 56451.
