IN THE MATTER OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS
AND THE ACQUISITION OF NECESSARY RIGHTS-OF-WAY
IN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 1967--2 (RISA ROAD
LAFAYETTE) , CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Contra Costa, California, that it is the intention of said
Board of Supervisors to order the following work to be done
and acquisitions to be made under the provisions of Division
7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California
(Improvement Act of 1911), in Assessment District No. 1967-2
(Risa Road- Lafayette) , Contra Costa County, California, to
wit
The construction of curbs , gutters , sidewalks ,
street paving, drainage facilities , and other
miscellaneous and appurtenant items necessary
to provide complete street improvements along
Risa Road, Lafayette, together with the acqui-
sition of the necessary rights-df-way in the
County of Contra Costa, California, to wit :
That parcel of land beinC a portion of Rancho Acalanes, Contra
. Costa County, State of California, described as follo!,,s:
Bei nnin at a point on the north line of Nt. Diablo Boulevard,
said port. "wears south 43° 22' DO" weal 40 feet, more or less, and
south 33" 301 0011 east 162 feet, more or less, from the most easter-
ly corner of that parcel of land des^r-bed in the deed to Contra
Costa Jet.,, sh Co nity Center, recoriad _Jr. the office of the County
Recorder of the County of Contra Costa, State of California, in
Volume 2280, Official Records, at page 408; thence from said point
of bei nnini;, north 38° 30' OO" west, 40 feet west and parallel
to the east line of Contra Costa Jewish Co-,nunity Center parcel
(2280 OR 468), 452 feet, more or less; thence north 10° 00' 00" west

135 feet, more or less; thence northerly , easterly and southerly
on a curve to the right, radius of 45 feet, 225 feet-,' more or less,
to a line that is 20 feet east of and parallel to the east line of
said Contra Costa. Jewish Co.r=,xnity Center arcel (2230 OR 463) ;
thence south 10° 00' 00" east, along; sal d -parallel line, 1207 feet,
more or less, and south 33" ;-0' 00" east 470 feet, more or less, to
the north line of said tit. Diablo Boulevard; thence south 79° 43' 00"
was* along said north line of ;It. Diablo Boulevard, 40 feet, more or
less, and south 45° 55' 00" west 25 feet, more or less, to the
point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said improvements be
constructed in said streets , avenues , roads, lanes , courts ,
places and/or public ways hereinabove described and in the
particular locations set forth and shown on the plan hereafter
referred to; together with the construction of all appurtenances
thereto, including necessary fittings , trenchings , grading
and regrading, excavation and fill, removal of obstructions ,
connections to existing services , back filling, reconstruction
of existing ground surface as required to conditions existing
prior to commencement of construction, all in the particular
locations as the same are shown on the plan hereafter referred
to;

That the location of work to be constructed pursuant
to this Resolution of Intention is shown upon. the plan which
has been filed in the office of the County Clerk of the County
of Contra Costa on the 30th day of January, 1968, and is
entitled, "General Plan of Improvements to be Made, Risa Road-
Lafayette, Assessment District No. 1967-2, Contra Costa County,
California," and said plan is referred to for the specific
location of the works and structures to be constructed.
That the structures and work and improvements herein

described are to be constructed to the grades and subgrades
and elevations shown upon the plans and specifications to be
filed in the office of the County Clerk of the County of
Contra Costa.

All of said work will be done to said lines and
grades .
All of said work shall include,- without duplication,
any and all streets , intersections, terminations and opposite
terminations occurring within the limitations of said work.
The attention of all persons is directed to the fact
that all of said classes of work above described may not be
constructed upon all of the streets and/or public ways above
described in their entirety, but only upon the particular
locations as shown on the plan hereinabove referred to, to
which the attention of all persons . is directed for a descrip-
tion of the work, locations of the several classes of work, a
description of the classes of work to be done upon each of
the several public streets or rights-of--way named, a descrip-
tion of the streets and rights-o.f-way, and for all other
information contained in the said plan hereinabove referred to
pertinent to the doing and completion of the work and improve-
ments herein proposed.
? Said Board of Supervisors hereby makes the
{ expenses and costs of said work and improvements chargeable .
upon a. district, which district said Board of Supervisors
hereby declares to be the district benefited by

the improvements and acquisitions herein described; said
district shall include that territory in the County of Contra
Costa, State of California, which is shown on that certain
map or plat on file in the office of the County Clerk of the
County of Contra Costa, and which is entitled and described,
"Proposed Boundaries -Assessment District No. 1967-2 (Rica
Road - Lafayette) , Contra Costa County, California,, and which
said map or plat indicates by a boundary line, the extent of
the territory included in the proposed district, and covers
all details as to the extent of the area to be assessed; said
map or plat is , by this reference, incorporated herein and
made a part hereof;
Excepting from the area shown and delineated on said
map or plat hereinabove referred to the area of all public
streets , lanes , roads , drives , courts, places , public parks ,
and all *easements and rights-of-way therein contained belong-
ing to the public, and also excepting from the area shown and
delineated on said map all property owned by the United States
of America, the State of California, or the County of Contra
Costa, and any other public agent mandatory of the Government,
school board, educational, penal or reform institution or insti-
tution for the feeble-minded or the insane which is in use in

the performance of a public function, and also specifically
excepting therefrom any property belonging to the-United Stags
of America or the State of California, whether in use in the
performance of a public function or otherwise.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that serial bonds to represent
unpaid assessments , and to bear interest at the rate of not
more than six per cent (6%) per annum, will be issued hereunder
in the manner provided by Division 10 of the Streets and High--
Ways Code, the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, the last install-
ment of which bonds shall mature fourteen (14) years from the
2nd day of July next succeeding ten (10) months from their
date.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN. that on Tuesday, the
27th day of February , at the hour of 11:00 A.M. of said day,
at the meeting place of the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Contra Costa, Administration Building, Martinez , California,

any and all persons having any objections to the grades to
which the said work is proposed to be done, or to the
boundaries of the district proposed to be assessed to pay
the costs and expenses of said work, may appear before said
Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa and show
cause why said improvements and acquisitions should not be
carried out in accordance with this Resolution of Intention,
and may present written protest not later than the hour
hereinabove set for hearing against the doing of said work,
the grades' to which said work is to be done, or the extent
of the territory to be assessed to pay the cost and expenses
thereof,
The County Clerk of the County of Contra Costa shall
cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the
1AFAYETTE SUN, a newspaper of general circulation, published
f and circulated in the County of Contra Costa, which

said newspaper is hereby designated as the newspaper in which
shall be printed and published all notices , resolutions ,
orders and other matters required to be published in the proceed-
ings taken pursuant to this Resolution of Intention and under
the provisions of said Improvement Act of 1911, and amendments
thereto; the first publication of said notice shall be not
less than ten (10) days prior to the date herein fixed for
hearing on this Resolution of Intention.
The Engineer of 'Work shall cause to be conspicuously
posted along, the line of said contemplated work and improve-
ment, and on all the open streets within the assessment
district, notices of the passage of this Resolution of Inten-
tion in the time, form and manner required by law.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the total estimated
cost of said work and improvement is the sum of $509.000.00.
The County Clerk of the County of Contra. Costa is
hereby directed to mail a copy of this Resolution of
Intention, postage prepaid, to all persons owning real
property proposed to be assessed, whose names and addresses
appear on the last equalized assessment roll or as known to
said .County Clerk, said mailing to be at least fifteen (15)
days prior to the day herein fixed for hearing on this
Resolution of Intention, all in the time, form and manner
Y prescribed in said Improvement Act of 1911, as amended,

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly adopter] by the Beard of Supervisors of the
County of Centra. Costa, California , at a regular meeting thereof,
held on the 34th day of January, 1968 , by the following vote,
