RESOLUTION INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR REORGANIZATION TO DETACH
TERRITORY FROM THE SAN RAMON FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AND CONCUR—
RENTLY ANNEX THE SAME TERRITORY TO THE VALLEY COMMUNITY SERVICES
DISTRICT.
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County Resolves That :
Reorganization by detachment of certain territory from the
San Ramon Fire Protection District and concurrent annexation of
the same territory to the Valley Community Services District has
been proposed by Valley Community Services District and by all
owners of land within the said territory . The application for
the proposed reorganization was filed with the Executive Secretary
of the Local Agency Formation Commission on November 29 , 1967•
The reason for the proposed reorganization as stated in the appli-
cation, is the best fire protection can be provided by the Valley
Community Services District as the said territory would otherwise
be subject to dual taxation for such service.
On January 3 , 1968, the Local Agency Formation Commission
approved the application under the short form designation "Gentry
No. 5 Reorganization by Detachment and Annexation from the San
Ramon Fire Protection District to the Valley Community Services
District . " The description of the said reorganization territory
is set out in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein.
The territory of the said reorganization is uninhabited territory .
The Local Agency Formation Commission approved the pro-
posed annexation subject to the following terms and conditions :
(a) The boundaries of the area proposed to be detached
and annexed were amended by this Commission to
include additional territory, the total affected
area to be as described in Exhibit "A" , attached
hereto and made a part of this resolution.
(b) Upon annexation of the territory to the Valley
Community Services District, this territory is to
be subject to applicable ordinances of that district .

At 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 20, 1968,, in the Chambers
of the Board of Supervisors , Administration Building, Martinez,
California, this Board will conduct a public hearing on the proposed
reorganization to detach certain territory from the San Ramon Fire
Protection District and concurrently annex the same territory to
the Valley Community Services District . At the hearing the testi-
mony of all interested persons or taxpayers for or against the pro-
posed reorganization will be heard. Any interested person desiring
to make written protest against the proposed reorganization must do
so by written communication filed with the Clerk of this Board not
later than 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 20, 1968. A written
protest by an owner of land must contain a description sufficient
to identify the land owned by him. A written protest by a voter
must contain the residential address of such voter.
At the conclusion of the hearing, the Board of Supervisors
shall either disapprove the proposed reorganization to detach and
annex or order the reorganization without election if insufficient
written protests for the same had been filed and a majority protest
is not deemed to exist.
The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to publish the
text of this resolution once a week for two successive weeks in
the "Valley Pioneer," a newspaper of general circulation, pub-
lished in this County and circulated in the territory of each of
the districts proposed to be affected by the reorganization, The
first publication to be made not later than fifteen (15) days
prior to the hearing date . The Clerk of the Board is also directed
to post the text of this resolution on the bulletin board of this
Board at least fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing date and such
posting will continue to the time of the hearing.
The Clerk of this Board is further directed to give notice
by mailing notice of hearing at least fifteen (15) days prior to
the hearing date to each affected district , each person who has
filed a notice for special notice with the County Clerk, and the
chief petitioners , if any.

2 Being a portion of Rancho San Ramon, County of Contra Costa, Mate of

4 Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of State Highway 21
5 leading from Danville to Dublin with the southwestern extension of the
6 southeastern line of that certain parcel of land conveyed by Alexander T.
7 Andreasen, et ux, to Barry L. Crosby by deed dated May 4, 1959s recorded
8 December 4, 1959 in.Book 3501 at page 334 in the Office of the Recorder of
9 Contra, Costa County, California and as set forth and described in Ordinance
10 No. 45 of the Valley Community Services Districts Counties of Contra Costa
11 and Alameda, State of California. dated January 19, 1965; thence North
12 easterly along the boundary line of Valley Community Services District
13 and the southerly line of the above mentioned parcel (350B OR 334) to a
14 point in the westerly line of Valley Community Services District boundary; {

21 as set forth and described in Ordinance No. 36 of the Valley Community
22 Services District, Counties of Contra Costa and Alameda, .State of California,
23 dated September 3, 1963; thence Westerly along said projection and northerly
24 line of 1360 OR 242 and along the boundary of Valley Community Services
25 District to an angle corner therein, being a point on the centerline of the
26 old State Highway 21; thence Southerly along the centerline-of said old
27 State Highway 219 being the western boundary of Valley Community Services
28 District to its intersection with the center line (FL line) of the Frontage
29 Road, San Ramon Valley Boulevard; thence Northerly along the FL line of
30 said Frontage Road to' its intersection with the centerline of said old
