the proposed proceeding Is that the annexation of the said territory
to the said District will provide more economical and improved fire
protection services for the people of Martinez and adjacent areas,
This Board is the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa
County Fire Protection District.
On November 15, X967, the Local ,Agency ''Fara ion Commission
approved the resolution of application, declared th territory pro-
posed to be annexed as Inhabited, and assigned the proposal designation
as "City of ;pa ti nez Annexation to the Contra Costa County Fix, Pro-
tection District;: as described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and
by reference incorporated herein. The Loom Agency Formation
Commission approved the 'proposed annexation to be effective July 1,
1968, subject to the following teras and conditions:
(a) The boundaries of the area proposed to be
annexed Include all tic;: the City of Martinez
as constituted on November 15, !967 .
(b) Effective July 1, 1968, all full-time paid
personnel of ' the City Fire Depart ent shall
be accepted in similar classifications ons in
the Contra Costa ' County Fire Protection

in accor=dance with the provisions of the
County ordinance Code ant' Civil SerX,IicRule

c) Effective July 1 1968, the Contra Costa
County Fire Protection District shall. succeed
to all of the assets and liabilitlesof the
city of MartInez Fire Department, including
lana, buildings, and eqylpment used solely
by the City Fire Department. In the case of
the city substation,on, a city lease-purchase
arrangement, there shah, be a 'city-dia ry t
agreement concerning district 'acquisition tiron of
that property prior to the effective date o
the annexation,
€) EPPective upon annexation, the cit, = shall con-
tinue the existing city interdepartmental water
service practise including the prese .t, policy
on hydrant rental. Now hydrant installation
costs, not covered by subdivision 'ordinance,
shall be borne by the district .
(e) Any election called upon the question of con-
firming an order for ,annexation shall be called,
held and conducted upon such question only within
the territory ordered to he annexed.
If the annexation is completed afters January l.,
1968, the city shall pay the district, for fiscal
year 1968-1969, an amount' equivalent to that
which would be raised by the application on of the
1968-1969 d1atrIc t tax rate upon the total assessed
valuation of the city for that year.

the annexation of the above said; territory. Notice f said hearing
was duly given 'by (i) publication in, the Morning NoWs Gazette,
(2') posting on this ward r a 'Bulletin Board., and (A ailing notice
to the affected district, the City of Martinez, and to each person
who has filed a notice for special notice with the 0ounty l Clerk, as
appear by the affidavits of publication, posting and mailing notice
on file with the Clerk of this Board. This Board;, at the time and
place set for said hearing, heard the determination of the Local
Agency Formation Commission read aloud, and then called .dor evidence
or protests as provided for by Government Spode Section 56314,
This Board hereby finds that the proposed ed City df`
Martinez annexation to be in the beat interest of the people of the
aforesaid territory . This Board hereby orders and declares the
aforesaid annexation pursuant, to Government Code '56519.1 ubj c t
to confirmation of the voters within the territory ordered to be annexed
upon the question thereof and upon the aforesaid ''conditions of the
."vocal Agency Formation Commission.
This Board hereby, determines that the q estlion submitted
to the voters resident in the annexed territory at this special

The Clerk of this Board is hereby directed c give notice
of said election by publishing this Resolution pursuant to Govern-
ment Code Bactine 6066 In the Owning Aws Gazette", a newspaper
of general circulation in the entire annexed territory described
in ,exhibit "A" attached hereto. Publication ;shall be completed at
least 10 days prior to June 4, 1968.
