Jimno. } RESOLUTION NUMBER 67/931 City of Pittsburg, California. } } 'WHEREAS the :hoard of Supervisors, County of Contra, Costa, California has been apprised of the retirement of Police Chief Sal P. Jimno, City of Pittsburg, California; and vIHEREA.,S the outstanding polices career of Chief Jimno Includes his tenure with the City of Pittsburg from 1943 to 1967 and service as a Deputy Sheriff and Inspector with the Office of the Contra Costa. County Sheriff from 1935 to 1943; and WHEREAS the personal police history of this fine law enforcement official is replete with remarkable examples of effectiveness and with congratulatory citations from 'state and local officials, his police associates, and the general public ; and WHEREAS Chief Jimno despite his demanding direct police responsibilities found time to contribute generous and suoce ssful efforts to community groups including youth organizations, inter- governmental police associations, and varied local endeavors in the interest of people; and WHEREAS Chief Jimno in pursuing rigid lave enforcement policies still retained an abiding concern for his fellow men and a deep regard for the problems of the unfortunate; and WHEREAS Chief Jimno developed an outstanding police farce in the City of Pittsburg and. in connection thereulth has drawn favorable attention, statewide and nationwide, to the City of Pittsburg and. the County of Contra Costa; NOW, TF.REFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY Or, CONTRA. COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESQrIED that it extends t o Police Chief Sal P. Jimno its sincere thanks for his 'substantial and successful police efforts in behalf of his city and his county, its congratulations on his remarkable police career covering more than three decades, and its best wishes for a long and satisfying and contented life in retirement. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of December, 1967 by the following vote of the Boards AYES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, Alfred M. Dias, James E. Moriarty, Thomas John Coll, ,Edmund A. Linscheid.
