HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011967 - 67-930 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE of CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming ) the Month of January, 1968 as ) March of Dimes Month. 3 RESOLTITION No. 67/930 WHEREAS birth defects are a national tragedy resulting in the killing and crippling of more children each year than any other human disorders and WHEREAS thousands of these children are threatened with physical disability or mental retardation for life; and W-HEREAS prompt and proper medical attention', can prevent disability in manv birth defect victimss and. cv9I ERF .S the March of Dimes, through its network of medical care centers in California and throughout the nation is offering such exemplary treatments and WHEREAS scientific research supported by the March of Mmes has already uncovered clues which may lead to the control of certain types of birth defects s and "-'.IHM FAS the successful development of polio vaccines through the March of Mmes gives us confidence in this great voluntary health agency's ability to deal with the terrible problem of birth defects; NOW, THEREFORE, the BOARD of SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, does hereby proclaim the month of January, 1968 as March. of Dimes Month and strongly urges all of our people to give this campaign their full support. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of December, 1967 by the following vote of the Boardt AYESs supervisors Jaynes P. Kenny, Alfred M. Dias, Jaynes E. Moriarty, Thomas Jahn Coll,' Edmund A. Linscheid.
