IWH�iPOE4S Supervisor J. E. Moriarty reported to the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Contra Costa, California, that his San Raman Valley Liaison
Committee and the San Ramon Valley Chamber of Commerce have recommended that
Mate Freeway Route 680 within the coniines of the County of Contra Costae, be
named the "JC I, F. BA LDWi' M401 AL iil'EWAY"3 and
WE `' Supervisor Moriarty strongly recommended ended approval of the
suggestion of said organizations; and.
WHEREAS Supervisor Moriarty, also informed the Board that the present
procedure for such naming of highways is presently accomplished; through the
adoption of a concurrent resolution by the Assembly and ;senate of the California
State Legislature and the filing of said resolution with the Secretary of Mate;
and
# 'AS Supervisor Moriarty expressed the belief that said naming
would be a fitting tribute to the former Congressman John F. Baldwin,, 'r who was
bora in the San Ramon Valley near the southerly end of State Freeway 680 in
Contra Costa. County and conducted his law business in Martinez near the northerly
end of State Freeway Route 680; and
ITHMLEAS Supervisor Moriarty also recommended that this Board urge
Assemblyman James W. Dent to introduce the necessary concurrent resolution in
the Assembly of the Mate of California and. further urge Senator George Miller,
Jr. and Assemblyran John T. Knox to ccs-author the required concurrent resolution;

recommendations of Supervisor James E. Moriarty be APPROVED.
