4s i the Board: of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 67/689 on
September 193, 1967s to prescribe county policy on. authorizations for deduction
of dues for employee unions and employee associations; and
W1FIRS it has been found that the policy set, forth in Resolution
Number 67/689 requires clarification and amendment;
1,10W1 THEMKRE, BR IT RSLVED that subparagraph Number 1 of solution
11,hunber 67/689 is amended to read as follows:
1, Payroll, deduction may be authorized for employees with
permanent or probationary status on a finding by the Board
of Supervisors that the union or association represents:
a. At least .five per cent (5 ) of this total
employees in county permanent positions if
the organization seeks to represent county
employees gen.erally;or
b. At least 15 per cent (15%) of the employees
in permanent positions in an occupational.
series (group of related classifications) if
the organization seeks to represent employees
only in a specific c3ecupatiod; or
c. At least 25 per cent (25, of the employees
In permanent positions in a specific depart-
ment if the organization seeks to represent
employees only in a specific d+epartrraent; and
d, Provided, hwever, that the minimum number
of memberships for payroll deductions under
any of the aforesaid criteria shall be 100-
and
e. Provided further that the minimum number sof
memberships for payroll deductions under any
of the aforesaid criteria shall be maintained
at 80 or above or the authorization shall be
cancelled; and

amended to provide that an authorization granted for payroll deduction
upon request of an employee union or associaVlon shall not be extended
beyond the fi,61,d of membership described in said request wit iout an
additional autb.orization by the Board of Supervisors,
PASSED ADOPTED this 21st day of November., 1967, by the follow-
ing vote:
