HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011967 - 67-735 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming ) October 27, 1967 NAVY DAY RESOLUTION NO. 67/735 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS it Is of vital interest to all citizens of the United States of America that we possess a sound national defense; and WHEREAS it Is well known that our strong Navy and Marine Corps are making great contributions to the security of our Nation and -free men everywhere; and WHEREAS the mobile forces of the Navy, manned by highly trained and dedicated personnel, provide a deterrent force virtually free from surprise attack; and WHEREAS since 1922, October 27th has beer, celebrated nationally and locally as NAVY DAY - a day on which it is only fit- ting and proper that the citizens of this great Nation give well de- served honor and. recognition to achievements of our mighty Navy and particularly to its heroic men and women - living and dead - all over the world, for their patriotism, loyalty, efficiency-, and devotion to duty* NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that 1, Edmund A. Linscheid, Chairman, Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, do hereby proclaim Ftriday, October 27, 1967 as NAVY DAY and call uoon all citizens of Contra "osta County to take part in appropriate observance of this day through-tqe many channels open to them. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of October, 1967 by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, Alfred M. Dias, James E. Moriarty, Thomas John Coll, Edmund A. Linseheid.
