L."rence as Retiring RESOLUTION NO. 6?!?33 ui l di ng Maintenance } Superintendent. 1 3 WHEREAS Mr. E. A. Lawrence, Building Maintenance Superin- tendent, is retiring from employment ulth the County of Contra Costa, California after more than 30 years of continuous service; and —HEREAS Mr. Lawrence, known to his friends and associates a "Red", has seen. Contra Costa. County, during his tenure of employ- ment, grow From a rural community with a population of '85,000 to an extensive urban area with great industri.ai, commercial,' residential, and agricultural components, and with a population well over half a. million; and WHEREAS during; the employment of Mr. Lawrence by Contra Costa County, county government operations, including those for which he has been responsible; namely, building construction and repairs, custodial work, grounds maintenance and telephone communications, have become increasingly complex and difficult ; and WHEREAS S the effectiveness of the work of Mr. Lawrence is reflected by the fact that some county government structures built as many as 65 years ago have been so well maintained as' tea permit their use up to the present gime; and WREAS "Red" Is held in high esteem by the County Super- visors for whom he has served., by other county officials, by his fellow employees and the general public because of his willingness to be helpft,,-I, his intense interest in having work well done, and his concern for the well-being of his subordinates-, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVED that on behalf of officials, employees and, the general public of Contra Costa. County it extends to Mr. E. A. "Red," Lawrence sincere appreciation for his continuing and successful efforts covering more than three decades dedicated to the public service, and it wishes for him a long and enjoyable life in retirement. PASSEL and ADOPTED this 3rd day of October, 1967 by the following vote of the Board. AYES. Supervisors James P. Kenny, Alfred. X. Dias, James E. Moriarty, Thomas Jahn Cala, NOES: A. Li.nscheid.
