September 24, 1967 as RESOLUTION NO. 67 '68$
CHIROPRACTIC WEEN.

WHEREAS Monday, September 18, 1967 is the seventy-second
anniversary of the memorable discovery of chiropractic in 1$95 by
Dr. Daniel David Palmer; and
WHEREAS this comparatively young and vigorous health
science has gained such wide acceptance that it has become the
largest drugless healing art in the world and second largest
healing art in history; and
WHEREAS the acceptance of chiropractic methods is evi-
denced by the Fact that forty-eight of the United States, the
District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Provinces of Canada, and many
foreign countries have accepted statutes recognizing and legalizing
the licensed practice of chiropractic; and
WHEREAS the chiropractic profession has carried on a
continuing program of education, clinical and basic research for
the improvement of the art of chiropractic for the care of mankind;
NOW, THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Contra Costa, California does hereby
officially proclaim the week of September 18, 1967 through
September , 1967 as CHIROPRACTIC WEED and does hereby also call
attention to the importance of chiropractic as a method of care
and to the doctor of chiropractic for his services to humanity,
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of September, 1967, by
the following vote of the Board

Thomas John Coll, Edmund.. A. Linscheid.
NOES: Done,
ABSENT. Supervisor James E. Moriarty,
