"Saint aryls College-County Day."
HER A-3 Saint n ary t s College of California, located in
the ,oreLga valley of Contra. Costa County, California, has been making
vital contributions to our community and to the nation for 104 years
by providing a liberal education for young men; and
,dHER�IAS a number of civic minded citizens have barcoded
together as a College-County Committee for the purpose of increasing
community awareness of the magnificent educational resources available
for this purpose at Saint Marrs College; and
'`�M,S RIAS this College-County Committee is also .focused
toward providing scholarships for young men of Contra Costa County
who are unable to continue their college education without financial
assistance; and
WHEREAS to further these goals the first annual College-
County Day will be held at Saint Maryt s College on September 10, 1967,
the day t s events to include a football scrimmage pointing up the
return of that noble sport to Saint Mary t a College, and open house
tours of the college followed by a barbecue;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa
County Board of Supervisors does hereby proclaim Sunday, September 10,
1967 as "'Saint Mary' s College-County Day and calls upon all citizens
of Contra Costa County to participate in appropriate observance of
this day through the many opportunities open to then.
FASTED AND ADOPTED this lst day of August, 196' by the
following vote o.f the Board:
