HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011967 - 67-526 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CR CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION No. 67/526 WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa., California. is fully aware of the concern of the United. States Navy Department with respect to safety associated with receipt, storages, and shipment of materials by the Concord Naval Weapons Statism; and IvMIEREAS the Board is equally concerned about' this problem in term sof people working and residing at points not too distant from said Station and Navy, Army, and civilian personnel assigned within said Station; and WHEREAS the Board also is concerned about private and public properties and facilities located at points not remote .from said Station and also about facilities located within said Station; and 14HEiEAS the Beard after giving careful consideration to the various facets of the problem which is one sof vital interest to all informed persons in the total. Contra, Costa County community and has concluded that the initial step which should be taken is action to effect compliance with the minimum .safety regulations of the United States Navy Department pertaining to pier loading facilities ; N01, THEREIFORE,, BE IT BY THIS BOAR') RESOLVED ,that the United States cavy Department is urged before proceeding with. any other action to take the steps necessary to bring its pier loading facilities into compliance with its cern safety regulations and give detailed attention to proposals made in this regard by the Honorable Jerome R. Waldie, Congressman, 14th District, and BE IT BY THE BOARD FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to the Honorable Thomas H. Kuchel and the Honorable George Murphy, United. States Senators from California, and to Congressman Waldie requesting that action as outlined above: be taken as the primary remedial need. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of July, 1967 by the following vote of the Beard: AES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, Alfred M. Dias, James E. Moriarty, Thomas John Call., Edmund A. Linscheid.
