COLI TY:, STATE OF C.L1FOXIA In the }utter of Use €f the i Point Pinole area. 3 RESOLUTION NUMB 67/524 WHEREAS the Board, of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa County, California, adopted its most recent Counter Nand. Use and Circulation Plan in 1963; and WHEREAS in said. plan Point Pinole was shown as a park site to correspond with the plans of the County Park and. Recrea- tion Commission (now- the County Recreation and Natural. Resources Commission) and also to correspond with the ;general. Plan of the City of Richmond; and WHEREAS since 1963 the Bethlehem Steel. Corporation has acquired the Point Pinole site, has expended $25,000,000 in plant development, is employing 800 people (including employable welfare recipients) in its operations, and contemplates future extensive expansion of its facilities and operations; and WHEREAS since 1963 the Point Pinole area has been annexed to the City of Richmond and, the General Plan of the City of Richmond has been amended to eliminate the Point Pinole site as a park area; and WHEREAS the Public Education and Recreation Committee (Supervisor J. P. .Kenny, Chairman and Supervisor A. M. Dias) of the Board of Supervisors has recommended that the Paint Pinole area be eliminated as a site for a park area and shown as Indus- trial when reprints of the map showing the 1963 County Land Use and Circulation :Plan are issued; N Oft#, TERE FO RE$ E XT BY THIS BOARD AESaLVED that the recommendation of its Public Education and Recreation Committee Is approved.
