CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Appointment
of Judge of the Superior Court RESOLUTION NO. 67/265
In and for the County of Contra
Costa, California.
WHEREAS the Honorable Homer W. Patterson is retiring as
a judge of the Superior Court In and for the County of Contra
Costa, California; and
WHEEBAS the Honorable Ronald Reagan, Governor of the State
of California, will in due course appoint a Superior Court judge
to replace judge Patterson; and
WHEREk3 the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra
Costa, California, Is concerned about improving the municipal
and justice court systems in the County of Contra Costa,
California; and
WHEREAS the Richmond Municipal Court, which has three
municipal court judges, has a very low work load per 3udge as
shown by statistics of the juAlwial Council of the State of
California;
NOWO THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVED
that if the Honorable Ronald Reagan, Governor of the State of
Californiashould decide to appoint one of the municipal court
Judges of the Richmond Municipal Court to the vacant superior
court Judgeship in Contra Costa County, he is urged to make no
replacement appointment for the municipal court judgeship which
will be vacant in the Richmond Municipal Court and ithereby allow
this Board of Supervisors to proceed with lower court consolida-
tion action in the western area of Contra Costa County; and
BE IT BY THIS BOARD FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this
resolution be transmitted to the Honorable Ronald Reagan, Governor
Of the State of California, the Honorable George Miller, Jr. ,
Senator, Seventeenth District, the Honorable John T. Knox,
Assenblyman, Eleventh District, and the Honorable James W. Dent,,
Assemblyman, Tenth District.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of April, 196?, by the
following vote of the Board:
AYES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, Alfred M. DIasq
Thomas John Coll.
NOES: Supervisors James E. Moriarty* Edmund A. Linscheld.
ABSENT: None.
