HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011967 - 1967-187 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Delegating } Powers to the Commissioners } RESOLUTION NUMBER 67/187 of Fire .protection Districts. ) (Health & Safety Code Sec. 13684) The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RT,30L ES THAT All former County Fire Protection Districts in. this County have noir been reorganized under the Fire Protection District Law of 1961 (Health & :Safety Code Secs. 13801 ff ) , namely the Bethel Island, Brentwood, srion.es, Byron, Contra Costa County, Crockett-Carquinez,, Eastern Contra Costa, El Sobr ante, island, Mountain. View, Oakley, Orinda, Pinole, and San. Pablo Fire Protection Districts; and the .Board of Supervisors is the supervising authority of 'these Districts, but intends to continue its long practice of appointing commissioners to manage the affairs of such Districts. This Board hereby delegates no powers to Island or .fountain View Fire Protection Districts, but delegates to the Commissions of the other listed Districts all the powers, duties, and rights set .forth in. the Fire Protection District ILaw of 1961 necessary to Cranage the affairs of said Districts, except that this Board, as the supervising authority and board of directors of each said District, reserves and retains the following district powers to be exercised by it with the advice and assistance of the respective commissioners 1. Budget, To approve and adopt all budgets. Prop rty. (a) To take and acquire real property; but the Commissions may purchase personal property, except that they feast procure capital outlay items costing more than $50 through. the County Purchasing agent in accordance with. the County Purchasing Ordinance (Co. Ord. Code Secs. 215CC ff) and Administrative Bulletins connected therewith. (b) To approve all building sites and projects, 3. Ordinances. To pass all ordinances. 4. hin2lo ee Status. To require the Districts heretofore , and hereafter, designated, to conform to County Civil Service ordinances, rules, regulations and procedures as to their employees; and the County Civil Service Commission and Civil Service Department are ex officio the Civil Service Commission and Department of such Districts. 5. To act on any special matter within the general powers hereby- delegated to thle commissions , and thereby bind the affected commission and district.
