the United Bayo Area Crusade is about to 'begin its 1967 coign
for funds; and
WHEICEAS the crusade will, if successfully conducted, provide financing
for a large number of community organizations having extremely desirable objectives;
and
WHERPAS these objectives include such camendable purposes as the pre-
vention of illness, i.ndigency, and delinquency, and aid to the sick andneedy; and..
141F.V,A.S employees of Contra Costa County and other governmental entities
within the county have been requested to participates actively in the 1967 campaign
of the United Bay Area Crusade and contribute to the funds which the crusade uses
to financially support community organizations; and
1&rr,REA3 this Board of Supervisors heartily endorses the work of the United
Bay .Asea. Crusade;
NC Jr THERM-}ORE., BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that County Audi to r-Controller
H. D. Funk is designated as Chairman for the Crusade campaign among county employees;
and
BE IT n,'RTHER RMOLVM that Edmund A. Linscheid, Chairman, Hoard of Super-
visors, is designated to serve as Honorary Chairman for the 1967 ';Crusade campaign
among all public employees in Contra Costa County, pursuant to the request of the
United Bay Area Crusade organization; and
BE, IT FURTHER RESOLVE) that J. P. McBrien, County Administrator, is
authorized to serve as Chairman of the crusade campaign among public employees in
Contra. Costa County, as requested by they United Bay Area Crusade organization- and
B'. IT =JRTHER RLSOL'IED that all county department heads, city officials,,
and district officials are urged to cooperate with Supervisor Linscheid, County
Auditor-Controller Funk, and County Administrator McBrien by working actively in
support of the United Bay Area Crusade; and
BE TT S:£tiLTl"'EEE RESOLD that the following county employees are appointed
to acquaint their fellow employees with the 1967 United. Bay Area. Crusade Program
and the desirable services rendered by the agencies financially supported by the
Crusade:
