Home My WebLink AboutORDINANCES - 03061950 - 0531 ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING Al OPERATORS. OF MOTOR VEHICLES TO STOP BEFORE PASSING OVER THE ATC ISON, TOPEKA. AND SANTA FE RAILWAY WHEN TRAVELING ON COUNTY ROAD E--70, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR. THE VIOLATION THEREOF. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, State of California, do ordain as follows : SECTION I; Every person operating a vehicle on County Road E-70 shall bring such vehicle to a frill and complete stop and shall keep such vehicle stationary until he has ascertained by looking and listening that it is safe to enter and cross, before crossing the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe right-of-way, where said right-of=way intersects County Road E-70. SECTION II: Vehicular stop signs of the type and style prescribed by the Director of Motor Vehicles shall be placed on each side of the .Atchison, Topeka and Santa. Fe Railway Companyt s right-of- way where said railway intersects County Road E-70, a County Road located on the south line of the northeast quarter of Section 22, Township 2 north, Range 2 East, Mt. Diablo Base and Meridian, and commonly known as Big Break Road. SECTION III: Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction., shall be punished by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars (4504.00) or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not exceeding six (6) months or by both such fine and imprisonment. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION IV: This ordinance shall take effect on approval thereof by an order of the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California and thirty (30) days from and after its passage and be- fore the expiration of fifteen (15) days after the passage thereof, it shall be published with the names of the members voting for and against the same in the rsk.yT.ToCTT janagg" , a newspaper printed and published in the County of Contra Costa, State of California.
