AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 328 OF THE SAN PABLO FIRE PRO-
TECTION DISTRICT OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTASTATE OF CALIFORNIA,
WHICH ORDINANCE ESTABLISHES REGULATION PERTAINING TO FIRES AND FIRE
MENACES, PROHIBITS OBSTRUCTIONS TO MEANS OF EGRESS AND ACCUMULATIONS
OF RUBBISH IN PLACES OF PUBLIC ASSEMBLAGE, PROHIBITS INTERFERENCE
WITH THE DUTIES OF FIREMEN AND FIRE EQUIPMENT3 REGULATES PARKING AT
FIRES AND PROVIDES PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS
THEREOF.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, State
of California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION I: That Section I of Ordinance No. 328 of the San
Pablo Fire Protection District be amended to read as follows:
"SECTION I: It shall be unlawful for any person to start,
or cause to be started, or to maintain any fire outside of any
building in the San Pablo Fire Protection District for the pur-
pose of burning any refuse matter, brush, grass, logs or stumps,
or other waste materials, except by a written permit from, and
under such regulations as may be imposed by the Fire Chief.
Permits for burning as referred to in this section will be issued
by the Fire Chief to responsible parties under regulation deter-
mined by the Fire Chief. However, that such permit is not neces-
sary for burning of any flamable material in an incinerator
constructed of non-combustible material, completely enclosed and
equipped with a spark arrestor of wire, metal screen, or equiv-
alent, having a mesh or holes not to exceed one-fourth (1/4) inch,
or any spark arrestor which is designed to provide the equivalent
protection".
The foregoing ordinance was passed and adopted by the Board
of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa at a regular meeting of
said Board held on the -- ist day of November, 1948, by the following
vote:
AYES: Supervisors - S. S. Ripley, H. L. Cummings, Ray S.
Taylor, W. J. Buchanan.
NOES: Supervisors - None.
ABSENT: Supervisors - R. J. Trembath.
