ORDINANCE NO. 443
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE WORKING HOURS FOR
COUNTY EMPLOYEES AND THE TIMES FOR WHICH COUNTY
OFFICES SHALL BE OPEN FOR. BUSINESS.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa
do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: All county offices and departments are required
to be kept open for the transaction of business between the hours
from eight o'clock A.M. to twelve o'clock M. , and from one o'clock
P .M. to five o' clock P .M. every day except Saturdays, Sundays and
holidays.
SECTION 2: In pursuance of the provisions of Section 24256
of the Government Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Contra Costa hereby prescribes that the office hours of the offices
of Sheriff, Clerk, Recorder, Treasurer and Auditor shall be from
eight o' clock A.M. to five o'clock P.M. , and such offices shall be
kept open for the transaction of business continuously during such
hours every day except Sundays and holidays, with the exception,
however, that such offices shall be kept open for the transaction
of business on Saturday mornings only bet-veen the hours of nine
o' clock A.M. and twelve o'clock M.
SECTION 3: In addition to the hours prescribed in 3ection
1 hereof, the office of Tax Collector shall be kept open for the
transaction of business from tine o'clock A.M. to twelve o'clock M.
on each and every Saturday morning from November 1 to December 5,
inclusive, and from April 1 to April 20, inclusive, in each year.
SECTION 4: In addition to the hours prescribed in Section
1 hereof, the office of Assessor be kept open for the trans-
action of business from nine o'clock A.M. to twelve o'clock M. on
each and every Saturday morning from March 15 to June 15, inclusive,
in each year.
This ordinance shall take effect, and be in force on and
after the first day of July, 1948, and before the expiration of
fifteen (15) days after the date of its passage, the same shall
be published with the names of the members voting for and against
the same in 2gpjXtrA__QqAta GAZeLtte" _, a newspaper printed and
published in the County of Contra Costa.
Adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra
Costa, State of California, on the 24th day of May, 1948, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors - S. S. Ripley, H. L. Cummings Ray S. Taylor,
W. J. Buchanan, R. J. Trembath.
NOES: Supervisors - None.
ABSENT: Supervisors None.
