ORDINANCE O. 565 OF TEE COUNTY OF CONTEIA COSTA 0ELATIN'Tc- TO THE iiEG ON OF OFFICERS I iGULAIIPING OF TEE COMPENSATI OF TEE CC= OF CONTRA COSTA, AND TO PPOVIDE, FCR TEE NUMBER, APPOINTMENT, TERMS IUD COMPEN- SATION OF TEE DEPUTIES AND EYPLOYEES THEREOF. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, State of California, do ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 9(C) of ordinance No. 365 of the County of Contra Costa is hereby amended to read as follows: " (C) SIC LEAVE: Beginning with the effective date of this ordinance all permanent employees under the merit syaten shall be entitled to one (1) day' s sidt leave with pay for each calendar month of service upon the recommendation of the authority appointing such em- ployee end with the approval of the Civil Service Com- mission. If any employee does not tame' the full amount of sick leave allound in any calendar year, the amount not Caen. -may be accumulated from year to year to a total of ninety (901 working days . Employees who were in the service of the county on the effective date of this ordinance shall be entitled to an accumulation of one (11 day sick leave for each year or fraction thereof of county service, provided that such an accumulation shell not exceed tw;nty (20) working days of sick leave. Sick leave may be taken only under the conditions and in accordance with the Bales of the Civil Service Com- mission." Section 2. Section ll(E) of ordinance No. 365 of the County of Contra Costa is hereby amended to read as follows: "(E) SALARY ON TRkNSFER. An employee who is trans- ferred from one position to another position in the same class shall be compensated at the same step in the salary range as he previously received, or in case said employee has been receiving a salary above the maximan of the appropriate range, shall continue to receive the same salary. For puiposes of further annual increment within the salary schedule, his anniversary date shall remain the same as it was in his former position." Section 3. Section 11 of ordinance No. 365 of the Coun- ty of Contra Costa is hereby amended by adding thereto subsection (G) to read as follows: n(G) CHANGES IN SALARY ALIS OCATIUM. An employee VW77TPRA is incumbent of a position in a class which Is reallo, anted to a salary schedule above that to which it was previously allocated, shall be compensated at the eama step in the new salary schedule as he was receiving in oil: the gehedule to which the class was previously alloqqtefl� Or in case the incumbent is already receiving more than the maximura step in the appropriate schedule, he shall continue to receive such salary or the maximum step in the new range, whichever is the greater. An employee who is incumbent of a -oosition in a class vuhich is reallocated to a salary echeduie below that, to which it was previouis- ly allocated shall be compensated at the same step in the new salary schedule as he was receiving in the saiary schedule to which the class was previously allocated, or in case the incuabent. is receiving a salary above the max- imum of the appropriate salary schedule , then his salary shall be reduced in the same ratio as the salary schedule to which the class has been reallocated is to thesalary schedule to which the class was previously allocated." All parts of ordinance No. 365 in conflict with this ordin- ence are hereby repealed. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the 12th day of F 1947, and before the ex- piration of fifteen (15 ) days afterthe date Of its passage, the same shall be pifolished with the nines of the members voting for and against the same in the "CONTRA COSTA GAZETTE" a newspaper printed and published in the County of Contra Costa, State of California.
