ORDINANCE NO. 334 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING UPON THE PUBLIC HIGIF41i'AYS IN THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA , STATE OF CALIFORNIA, OUTSIDE OF IITCORPORATED CITIES The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, State of California , do ordain as follows: SECTION I: It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicles to park or to stand such vehicles upon any public highway here and after in this section named, along or within a portion of a public highway, and the County Engineer is hereby authorized and re- quired to erect and maintain adequate signs along such portion of such highway, specifying the requirements of this section: A. Along all of the curb surrounding the small circular park separating the intersection of Arlington Avenue, Ardmore Road and Coventry Road, as said Avenue and Roads are delineated and so designated on the map entitled: "Kensington Park, Contra Costa County, California" filed May 2, 1911 in Volume 5 of Maps, page 103, records of Contra Costa County, California. B. Along a section of the westerly curb of Arlington Avenue, as designated on hereinabove mentioned map, described as follows: Commencing at the most northerly corner of Lot 1, Block 1 of said map of Kensington Park, thence easterly at right angles to the easterly line of said Lot 1, 12 feet more or less to the curb on the westerly side of Arlington Avenue and the point of beginning of "No Parking Area", thence southerly along said curb and parallel to the westerly line of Arlington Avenue 90 feet. C. Along a section of curb described as follows: Commenc- ing at the intersection of the westerly line of Amherst Avenue with the northerly line of Highland Park, as said Avenue and Tract are delineated and so designated on the map entitled; "Highland Park, Contra Costa County, California" filed May 41 1936 in Volume 22 of Maps, pages 825 and 626, records of Contra Costa County, California , thence along said westerly line, S. 130-241 E. $ 28.40 feet, thence on a curve to the right, having a radius of 460 feetand tangent to last mentioned course 275 feet , thence southeasterly radially from said westerly line 13 feet more or less to the curb on the westerly side of Amherst Avenue and the point of beginning of "No Parking Area", thence southwesterly, westerly and northwesterly along said curb 164 feet to a point on the curb on the easterly side of Arlington Avenue. The County :engineer is hereby authorized and required to erect and maintain signs not more than one hundred feet (1011) apart In each block within such district specifying the requirements ofthis section. SECTION II: Any persons violating any ofthe provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor', and, upon oonvUtion, shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.40) , or by imprisonment in the County Jail foraperiod not to exceed six (b) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION III: If.- any section, sub-section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, such unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The Beard of Supervisors hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance, and each section, sub=section, sentence, clause and phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sec- tions, sub-sections, sentences, clauses or phrases should be declared unconstitutional. SECTION IV:. This ordinance shall take effect thirty ( 30) days after the date of its adaption, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage hereof, shall be published for at least once a geek in The E1 Cerrito Journal , a newspaper printed and pub- lished in the County of Contra Costa, State of California, together with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against the same.
