HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES - 08051935 - 0235 ORDINANCE No.235 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDI- NANCE No. 234 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC HIGHWAYS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA OUTSIDE OF INCORPORATED CITIES," BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION TO BE NUMBERED SECTION 1312. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa do ordain as follows: SECTION 1: An ordinance No. 234 entitled, "An or- dinance regulating traffic upon the public highways of Contra Costa County,outside of incorporated cities," adopted on the 5th day of August, 1935, is hereby amended by adding thereto a new sec- tion to be numbered Section 131/2 and to read as follows: SECTION 13Y2: PARKING PROHIBITED► IN SPECIFIED PLACES: In addition to any other regulations placed by this ordinance it shall be un- lawful for the operator of any vehicles to park or to stand such vehicle upon any public highway here and after in this section named along or within a portion, and, of herein described between the hours specified, or at the time speci- fied herein, and the County Engineer is hereby authorized and required to erect and maintain adequate signs along such portion of such highway specifying the requirements of this section: (A) On either side of Loring Avenue from point thereon 220 feet west of Rolph Avenue to the intersection of said Loring Avenue with Heald Street. (B) - On either side of Rolph Avenue from its intersection with Loring Avenue at a point on said Rolph Avenue distant 150 feet south of the intersection of said Rolph Avenue with Winslow Street. (C) On either side of Pomona Ave- nue from its intersection with Port Street to the intersection of said Pomona Ave- nue with.Third Avenue. (D) On either side of Second Avenue from its intersection with Pomona Ave- nue to the intersection of said Second Avenue with Starr Street. For a period longer than two hours between the hours of eight o'clock a. m. and six o'clock p. m. of any day except Sundays and Holidays, subject, however, to the provisions of Section 11 and 12 hereof. The County Engineer is hereby author- ized and required to erect and-maintain signs not more than 150 feet apart in each block within such district specify- ing the requirements of this section. SECTION II: This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after date of adoption and, prior to the expiration of 15 days from the Passage hereof, shall be published for at least one week in the Crockett Signal, a newspaper printed and Published in the County of Contra Costa, State of Cali- fornia, together with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against the same. Adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa on the 5th day of August, 1935 by the following vote of the Board, to-wit: AYES, Super- visors Long, Cummings, Stow.
