PROHIBITING THE PLACING OF GARBAGE, REFUSE j OR OFFENSIVE MATTER IN OR UPON THE ROADS, STREETS AND ALLEN'S OF THE COUNTY OF i CONTRA COSTA, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF AND FOR THE 17ME WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT- The Hoard of -Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, do ordain as follows: Section 1: No person shall place, deposit or dump any garbage, swill, refuse, cans, bottles, papers, vege- tables, the carcass of any dead ani- mal, offal, trash, rubbish, or other noisome, nauseous or offensive matter or substance in or upon any county road, public road, street or alley of the County of Contra Costa. Section 2: Any person, firm, co- partnership or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordi- nance shall be guilty of a misde- meanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not ex- ceeding five hundred ($500.00) dollars, or by imprisonment in the County Jail of the County of Contra Costa, State of California, for a period of not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the 6th day of July, 1922, and before the expiration of fifteen days after the date of its pasage the same" shall be published, with the names of the members voting for and against the same for one week in the Contra Costa Gazette, a newspaper printed and published in the said County of Contra Costa. The foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted by Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, at a regular session of the said Board held on the 5th day of June, 1922, by following vote to wit: Aye's: Supervisors Zeb Knott, J. P. Casey, C. H. Hayden, W. J. Buchanan and R. J. Trembath. Noes: None. Absent; None. W. J. BUCHANAN, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, State of California.
