(Jurors Fees)
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as follows
(omitting the parenthetical footnotes from the official text of
the enacted or amended provisions of the County Ordinance Code) :
SECTION I. Section 26-4 . 002 of the County Ordinance Code is
amended, to change its title from "Compensation" to "Grand
jurors' compensation" , to read:
28-4 . 002 Grand jurors compensation. (a) Per Diems.
Each grand juror shall be paid ten dollars for attending each
meeting of the jury and ten dollars for attending each meeting
of its committees , but not more than one of each ten dollar
per diems in any one 24-hour period from six a.m. to six a.m.
the following day.
(b) Expenses . Each grand juror shall be reimbursed
for actual, necessary, and reasonable expenses (including
mileage) , at the same rates as for county commissions. (Ords .
84- §11 81-73 §11 81-62 §1 : Government Code §68091; see
also Penal C. 890 and former Govt. C. 976009) .
SECTION II . Section 28-4 . 004 is added, to provide for trial
juror per diem fees, to read:
28-4 . 002 Trial jurors compensation. The fee for trial
Jurors in all superior, municipal and justice courts in this
County, in all civil and criminal cases, shall be ten dollars
for each day' s attendance as a juror. (Ord. 84- 52:
Code of Civil Procedure 5196 and Penal Code §1143) .
SECTION III . EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance becomes effec-
tive 30 days after passage, and within 15 days after passage
shall be published once, with the names of the supervisors
voting for and against it, in the Contra Costa Times , a
newspaper published in this County.
