Vicki Walker Zumwalt, Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council, 2008 Chair I was originally appointed by Supervisor Federal Glover to our communities Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) in December 2001 to fill an open vacancy, and then was elected to a four year term on the MAC in the November 2002 election. Following this term there was a change in County Ordinances and MAC members were appointed by the District 5 Supervisor. I have served on the MAC in this capacity since the change and am requesting an appointment to the MAC for the term beginning in January 2009. Please find attached to this email the official application form. During my seven years of service I have served as Chair of the MAC and Traffic Committee several times. Serving on the MAC I have created community presentations on Bay Point and interacted with the County Supervisors and LAFCO, Mt. Diablo Unified School District Board and local school Principals, the PUC regarding our water quality, surrounding community leaders, Bay Point Church leaders, Contra Costa County officials, the Sheriffs department and many others, working with Supervisor Glover to bring projects and ideas to fruition in Bay Point. I have served as the representative from the MAC to our Project Area Committee and have worked to suggest improvements in housing stock, construction projects and areas requiring redevelopment in our neighborhoods. I have acted as the committee's liaison to Senator Tom Torlakson who is working on the construction and connections of the Delta DeAnza Trail System, which runs through Bay Point. I am a lifelong resident of Bay Point and my roots ran deep. I am a product of Bay Point Schools and over the years I have seen the community change and grow, with the.support of our Supervisor. It is with pleasure that I serve my community in any capacity requested. I attended St. Mary's College in Moraga and have a Bachelor of Arts in Management and a Master of Science in Health Services Administration. I have worked for over 18 years at a large Health Maintenance Organization and am currently a Director for Kaiser Permanente, The Permanente Medical Group, Encounter Information and Operations Centralized Auditing department and Livermore Scanning Center. Some of my responsibilities include managing multi-million dollar budgets, large scale information technology projects, management of teams, and department strategic direction. My position, rather it be at work, or in my community requires my ability to work cohesively with others, embark on new directions using strategic thinking and to understand how to problem solve in difficult situations. I.believe I am well qualified and have a desire to continue serving on the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council. If the Supervisor appoints me again to a term concurrent with his, I intend to work closely with him to ensure the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council presents a professional image and produces quality work products. I hope to see Bay Point to continue to grow and prosper moving forward as a community. I would be honored to serve as a MAC member and I thank you for your time and consideration.
