RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20619,to transition one(1) Social Services Program Assistant-Project(XOS1) position
#11877 at salary level 255-1384($4,206-$5,113)and its incumbent to one(1) Social Services Program Assistant position in the Ment
system as recommended by the Interim Director of Human Resources.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. This action will result in no Net County Cost.
BACKGROUND:
The funding for this project position is now stable and within our budget and Employment and Human Services would like to transition
this position to the merit system class of Social Services Program Assistant. An incumbent has been in this project position since
March 22, 2004. She was originally appointed from the Social Services Program Assistant eligible list as an alternate certification.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this request is not approved, the Job Club/Job Search function in the Welfare to Work Program would be adversely impacted and
would decrease the level of services provided to clients in the East County area. Additionally, the incumbent in this position would be
improperly classified as a Project when her duties and responsibilities are now.permanent and no longer on a project basis.

BACKGROUND:
This position is located in the East County Welfare to Work program. Its primary responsibility is to be the Job Club Leader in Job
Club/Job Search. Other duties include: routine service case actions and manages a restricted caseload under direct supervision;
provides group orientation of individual assistance to participants in vocational programs; uses CalWin, CaseStar and other data
systems; and performs related work as required.
