RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Art Lathrop) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Extension Agreement #23-365-5 with Global Vision Consortium, a corporation, effective July 1, 2008, to amend Contract #23-365-1 (as amended by Extension Agreements #23-365-4, #23-365-2 and Amendment Agreement #23-365-3) to increase the payment limit by $54,000, from $66,990 to a new payment limit of$120,990 and extend the term of August 31, 2008 through August 31, 2009. I FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) National Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness Program funds, through the State Department of Health Services. No County funds are required. f. BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): In May 2006, the County Idministrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #23-365-1 (as amended by Extension Agreements #23-365-4, #23-365-2 and Amendment Agreement #23-365-3) with Global Vision Consortium for the period from January 15, 2006 through August 31, 2007, to assist the County's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director with regard to developing plans for disaster preparedness for community clinics. f Approval of Contract Extension Agreement #23-385-5 will allow the Contractor to provide additional disaster preparedness services for community clinics including, but not limited to, implementing the Framework for Coordinated Community Clinic Response to Disasters, developing of general emergency preparedness policies and procedures, training with regard to the Incident Command System, Standardized Emergency Management System and National Incident Management System and operations planning for the Richmond Health Center,through August 31,2009. . .
