By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator _� �' i= Costa DATE: September 23, 2008 - County SUBJECT: Approval. of Standard Agreement #29-392-26 with the State Emergency Medical Services Authority SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Art Lathrop)to execute on behalf of the County, Standard Agreement#29-392-26 (State #EMS-8047) including the Contractor's Certification Clauses, with the State Emergency Medical Services Authority, to pay the County an amount not to exceed $142,149, for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project, for the period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. In accordance with the term of this agreement, County agrees to indemnify and hold harmless grantor from and against any and all liability, loss, expenses (including reasonable attorneys fees), or claims for injury or damages arising out of the performance of this agreement. FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this agreement will result in an amount not to exceed $142,149 of State funding for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project for fiscal year 2008-2009, (offset by a County Match not to exceed $38,586 from the SB 12 Emergency Medical Services Authority funds) BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATIONS)- On November 27, 2007, the Board of Supervisors approved Standard Agreement #29-392-25 with the State Emergency Medical Services Authority, for the period from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008,for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project.
