This outcome is achieved by providing safer and more energy-efficient homes to low-income children and their families. BACKGROUND: On February 26, 2008 the Board of Supervisors accepted funding from California Department of Community Services and Development to operate a weatherization and energy assistance program via the Employment & Human Services and Building Inspection Departments. This amendment adds funds to the original agreement and increases allowable mileage costs to provide weatherization services for dwellings more than 30 miles from headquarters. The amendment also formalizes programmatic provisions and record-keeping responsibilities regarding client files to ensure that program eligibility requirements are documented.
