HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10072008 - C.52 TO` BOARD OF SUPERVISORS �A - CONTRA A FROM: Carlos Baltodano, Interim Director of Human Resources COSTA DATE: September 23, 2008 COUNTY .SUBJECT: P-300 #20615— District Attorney Office SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20615,to cancel one permanent full-time Senior Legal Coordinator(Represented) and add one permanent full-time Clerk Specialist Level position [Represented]as recommended by the Assistant County Administrator- Human Resources Director, FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost savings of$23,454 as the cancellation of the Senior Legal Coordinator position will offset the added Clerk Specialist position. BACKGROUND: The District Attorney's Office is requesting the addition of this position to meet the current staffing needs of the department. The Richmond Office currently functions without a clerical lead. The Office Manager needs the assistance of the Clerk-Lead Specialist to assist her with the day-to-day operations of the clerical unit. This will free up her time to perform the managerial function assigned to her position. This savings will help offset the second phase budget cut that is currently facing the department. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this request is not approved,the District Attomey's Office will not have addressed its budgetry concerns to allow for the appropriate staffing. .
