SUBJECT: P300 #20597 — Health Services SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20597 to establish the classification of Administrative Services Assistant III-Project (APT3), allocate the salary schedule at salary level C85 1631 ($5371-$6529), add one(1)full-time position, and cancel one(1) Public Health Program Specialist I-Project(VBS2) position#8898, in the Health Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: The annual net cost will be $127,258 and will be partially offset by the cancellation of the Public Health Program Specialist I-Project. Annual net cost associated with this action is$3,272 and will be funded by the Nutrition Network funding (Kaiser Grant). BACKGROUND: The department is requesting to establish an Administrative Services Assistant III-Project classification. The Project classification will mirror the Administrative Services Assistant III merit classification. A Project position is warranted due to the Public Health/Community Wellness and Prevention Program's transient funding and the addition of the position is needed to provide high level program administrative support to the CWPP managers. The position will be responsible for maintaining the program's budget and expenditures, monitor accounting revenue streams and preparing invoices and reports, and providing CWPP Director and managers direction on the County's Policies and Procedures, including personnel matters, collective bargaining agreement issues, information management systems, and overseeing the allocation and distribution of program resources. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not approved,the Community Wellness-and Prevention Program will not have the dedicated, highly skilled program administrative support needed by the Community Wellness Prevention Program.
