SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20585 to establish the classification of Integrated Pest Management Coordinator(VLSB),
allocate the salary schedule at salary level B82 1862 ($6,956-$7,491); and add one (1)full-time position in the Health Services
Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total maximum annual cost associated with this action would be $150,000. The annual cost has been budgeted within the
County's building occupancy budget and the Public Works Department.
BACKGROUND:
On April 1, 2008 the Board of Supervisors approved the establishing the classification of Integrated Pest Management Coordinator, to
manage and coordinate the County's integrated pest management program and implement county-adopted IPM Policy for county
owned and maintained properties. Incumbent will be assigned to the Health Services/Hazardous Materials Division and will receive
direction from the Hazardous Waste Reduction Manager.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, the County will not have the designated personnel to manage and coordinate the County's efforts to
reduce its use of pesticides and promote a healthier environment.
