ATTESTED: Januar u 22., 2CC6 cc: Building Inspection John Cullen,, Clerk of the Board of supisors nd Co my Administrator BY DE TY CB:Ig \bdord FISCAL IMPACT No General Fund impact. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS Pursuant to Title 16, California Code of Regulations 473,the Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is authorized to issue citations containing an order of abatement or administrative fine against professional engineers or professional land surveyors who have committed any acts or omissions which constitute violations of the Professional Engineers Act or the Professional Land Surveyors Act or regulations of the Board. This citation was issued on July 31, 2007 and subsequently appealed by the Building Inspection Department on November 1, 2007. The Board has modified its administrative fine from $750 to $250. The determination for the administrative fine is based on the fact that changes were made to plans without stamping and signing the design changes related to a project identified as "The Bug Shop," located at 1536 Blum Road, Martinez, California. The cause for the citation is found in Section 6735 (a) and 6735 (b) of the Business and Professions Code. Since the changes were made by a County engineer under the authority of the County Building Official, such fine is payable by the Building Inspection Department. \bdord 09/18/2007 Page 2 of 2
