RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to
apply for and accept grant funding from the National Center on Senior Transportation in the
amount of$59,200 for funding of the Contra Costa Responsible Options for Aging Driver Safety
(CC ROADS) Project for the period February 1, 2008 through January 31, 2009.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$59,200: 100% National Center on Senior Transportation Grant

'SUBJECT: Apply for and Accept Grant ftom the National Center on Senior
Transportation
develop a sustainable network of public and non-profit agencies that will collaborate to serve as
a family assistance network on older driver issues. As a partnership of experts from various
fields including transportation, aging and adult services, law enforcement, and health care, CC
ROADS will provide information and assistance to families in the community who are facing the
issues of either keeping an older driver safely on the road or assisting an at-risk older driver to
transition to transportation alternatives.
