Valentine, Director J" -F s Costa Employment and Human Serviceso -` v' .OST'i COU1'S� Ga J DATE: January 22, 2008 County SUBJECT: Increase in One Time Only Allocations for California Department of Aging Title III Programs SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with California Department of Aging, to increase the funding by $199,564 to a new payment limit of $3,781,785 for One Time Only (OTO) funding for Area on Aging, Title III Programs with not change in the term of July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. (#29-002-143) FISCAL IMPACT: $3,781,785 100% State. Per California Department of Aging Agreement (AP-0708-07) County to receive increased funding in the amount of$199,564 for Title III, OTO funding. No additional County cost. O EPUTY P,&ge Two - Increase in One Time Only Allocations for California Department of Aging Title Ili Programs) BACKGROUND: Area Agency on Aging provides services to low income, older residents of Contra Costa County as defined in Title III of the Older Americans Act (OAA). Services include, but are not limited to, disease prevention and health promotion, nutrition counseling and nutrition risk screening services, mediation management, and information through multipurpose senior centers, congregate meal sites, home delivered meal programs, or at other appropriate sites. The increase will be used to enhance Area Agency on Aging, Title III program services.
