The amendment to Section 48.1 (g) - Hazard Pa v adds hazard pay benefits to Local 2700 employees working at the Custody Alternative Facility and Marsh Creek Detention Facility. This action is effective July 2, 2007. BACKGROUND: Currently Local 2700 employees who work in the Martinez Detention Facif and West County Detenti n Facility receive hazard pay benefits. The parties agree to modify the current contract language as indicated below. This settlement agreement is non-precedent setting. SECTION 48. HAZARD PAY& CODE GRAY CALL 48.1 Hazard Pay. Employees who work in the following designated areas shall receive a five percent (5%) base pay salary differential for each hour worked in the hazardous area provide, however, that in the event the condition in these areas are improved so that the hazardous conditions no longer exist such differential will no longer be applicable. a. Animal Services Department b. Reception Center of the CCRMC Emergency Department C. Mental Health Screening Unit of the Health Services Department d. Conservatorship Office in Martinez e. Employee who accompanies medical staff of inmate areas of the CountYDetention Facility f. Employee assigned to work in the reception and transportation areas of the Martinez Detention Facility g. Clerical employees assigned to work in the Martinez Detention Facility, West County Detention Facility, Custody Alternative Facility and Marsh Creek Detention Facility h. Reception Center of CCRMC Building 1 i. Any other employee who the Board of Supervisors may by resolution authorize Positions designated under category "h' shall only be eligible for Hazard Pay if they were employed in the positions prior to July 1, 2006. On September 30, 2008, Hazard Pay will sunset and be discontinued for employees deemed eligible under category.'h° above. The effective date of the Hazard Pay for clerical employees assigned to work in the Martinez Detention Facility and the West County Detention Facility will be July 1, 2006. The effective date of the Hazard Pay for clerical employees assigned to work in the Custody Altemative Facility and Marsh Creek Detention Facility will be July 2, 2007. Employees leaving positions designated under categories 'h' during the term of this Memorandum of Understanding shall no.longer be eligible for the Hazard Pay differential once they have left the position; and the position vacated, once filled, will no longer be eligible for Hazard Pay. The parties shall meet and confer on or before Jury 1, 2008, to establish a Detention Facility salary differential or adjust the base pay salary for the clerical employees who work in the Martinez Detention Facility, West County Detention Facility, Custody Alternative Facility and Marsh Creek Detention Facility positions designated under Section 48.1 Hazard Pay & Code Gray Call item g°. Once the Detention Facility base pay has been determined and established, Hanard Pay for the staff outlined in Section 48.1 Hazard Pay & Code Gray Call item 'g will no longer be eligible for Hazard Pay.
