HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02052008 - C.14A �-Wca- yx�h~0/--�' C - 14 ec,4& ea� IN THE MATTER OF HONORING RESOLUTION NO. 2008/78 URI ELIAHU FOR BEING NAMED SAN RAMON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR WHEREAS, Uri Eliahu is the president of ENGEO Incorporated, a firm of more than 200 engineers, geologists, hydrologists, environmental professionals, construction personnel and support staff, he has created a strong culture of extraordinary service, responsiveness and accountability; and WHEREAS, Uri Eliahu became president of the firm in 1992, Uri has grown ENGEO to become a recognized leader in multidisciplinary engineering services for both private and public sectors, and the employer of choice not only in the Greater Bay Area but also in the United States; and WHEREAS, Uri Eliahu In 2006 and 2007 ENGEO was named the #1 Best Place to Work in the 10-county area by the San Francisco, East Bay and Silicon Valley Business Times/Journal. Also in 2007, ENGEO was named one of the 25 Best Small to Medium Places to Work in America by the Society for Human Resource Management; and WHEREAS, Uri Eliahu is a Civil Engineering graduate from the University of California at Berkeley, aRegistered Geotechnical Engineer in California and a Registered Civil Engineer in California and Nevada, Uri was a very successful Project Manager at Chevron before he joined ENGEO; and WHEREAS, Uri Eliahu has been a leader in abatement of geologic hazards for projects throughout the state, and is a Founding Director and President of the California Association of Geologic Hazard Abatement Districts (GRAD); and WHEREAS, Uri Eliahu_has been instrumental in the success of Leadership San Ramon, and has been an integral part of the beautiful communities of the Dougherty Valley; and WHEREAS, Uri Eliahu, is devoted to his wife, Cindy, and their two sons, David and Daniel; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS recognize Uri Eliahu as Business Person of the Year, as named by the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce, for his tireless contributions to the business community throughout the San Ramon Valley.
