RECOMMENDATION:
ADOPT Resolution No.2008/99 to retitle Management Analyst III (ADTD)to Senior Management Analyst, and Management
Analyst II (ADTE)to Management Analyst(ADVB);Transition incumbents into identified classifications in Resolution No.
2008/99. Amend Resolution No. 2008/35 to retitle Special Project Manager(ADS5)to Principal Management Analyst-Project.

BACKGROUND:
The County Administrator's Office has undertaken a reorganization of its classification structure. In an effort to perform its
function more effectively and efficiently,the number of CAO job classifications are bring reduced, the positions retitled and
reallocated on the salary schedule. This action retitles two classifications, which will establishes a class structure that is
more easily administered and is comparable to classification structures utilized within the County Administrator/Executive
Office in other California counties.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Should this request not be granted, the positions will be improperly classified.

THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in its capacity as governing Board of
the County of Contra Costa and all districts of which it is ex-officio governing Board RESOLVES
THAT:
Effective February 1, 2008:
1) Retitle the classification of Management Analyst III (ADTD) and all position numbers and
incumbents to Senior Management Analyst; reallocate the classification on the salary schedule from
B82-1601 to B85-1585. Place employee#61332 and#60541 at Step 7, place employee#51869 and
#66093 at Step 6, and place.employee#72678 at Step 2 on the new salary range. Cancel
outstanding performance steps in Resolution No. 92/307.
2) Retitle Management Analyst II (ADTE) and all position numbers and incumbents to Management
Analyst (ADVB); reallocate the classification on the salary schedule from B82-1450 to B85-1434.
Place incumbent at Step 3 on the salary range..
3) Effective January 1, 2008, amend Resolution No. 2008/35, Section 2 to exclude position#12869,
and Section 3 to exclude the cancellation of the classification of Special Project Manager(ADS5).
Retitle Special Project Manager to Principal Management Analyst-Project."
