FISCAL IMPACT: There will be no net county cost associated with this request, as there are no positions established in this class. BACKGROUND: The Board of Supervisor's adopted Position Adjustment Resolution Number 20183 on July 17, 2007 which incorrectly reallocated the Automated Call Distribution (ACD)Administrator classification to salary level B851714($5,717-$6,949), instead the classification should have been reallocated to salary level B85 1810($6,287-$7,642). The Employment and Human Services originally requested this action due to the implementation of the Avaya system application hardware in the department. In July 2007, the Department of Technology(DoIT) partnered with EHSD to develop ACD positions of the Coordinator I, II and Administrator. However, the ACD Coordinator is to handle the application side of the call center activities at the departmental level. The Administrator position was established to handle the system side of the operation which is exclusive to the Department of Information Technology(DoIT). Currently, DoIT has positioned the Avaya System as the hardware platform for county wide call center operations and expects to add additional departments and the system to become more complex. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this request is not approved, the Department of Information Technology (DoIT) will continue to be understaffed and will result in degradation of service.
