The Commission consists of 25 members and one alternate. The Internal Operations Committee reviews nominations to the 20 At Large seats and their Alternate. Terms for all Commission seats are three years. At its meeting on February 11, the IOC considered and approved the preceding nominations. It should be noted that with the current number of commission vacancies, a membership quorum cannot be achieved. Several commissions and committees have encountered this problem and are unable to meet Brown Act requirements. Nominations for new appointments are being ratified by less than a commission quorum. Limited staffing makes roster maintenance and member recruitment an ongoing challenge for many of the Board's advisory bodies.
