William Louis Rich Resident of Port Costa He was known as Bill. He was born in Arkansas to James and Ivy Rich and grew up with four siblings; James, Emma Sue, Roscoe and Wayne. In addition he has nieces, nephews and many, many friends. He came to California as a young man. After serving in the military he drove a beer truck for Coors in the San Francisco area. He loved to fish, and on one such trip he wandered into Port Costa. Intrigued by the small town, his interest was piqued by the predominately vacant buildings in the downtown area. He later purchased several of these buildings, restored them and for the next 40-plus years lived in the small community. Throughout the years he purchased land in other locations with the strategy, "buy by the water." He was an entrepreneur, fisherman and outdoorsman.
