SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with FamiliesFirst, Inc., effective January 1, 2008, with no change in contract payment limit of$672,200 and with no change in the term of July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, to provide additional kinship support services. FISCAL IMPACT: $672,000: 19% Federal Promoting Safe and Stable Families Program; 36% State Kinship Support Service Program; 45% State Family Preservation Program. BACKGROUND: The Kinship Support Service Program (KSSP) provides multiple support services to help relative caregivers and children remain safe, healthy and nurturing. Kinship services include site based mentoring services where parents with children in the Child Welfare System live with mentor families and receive a variety of professional services so the family can become self-sufficient, safe, and remain together. This contract amendment is to provide additional kinship support services. 21-387-19
