SUBJECT: Contract with Ava Espinoza for CaIWIN training services.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or
designee, to execute a contract with Ava Espinoza, in an amount not to exceed
$162,000 to continue to provide California Works Information Network (CaIWIN)
training services to the Employment and Human Services Department staff for the
period March 1, 2008 through February 28, 2009.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$162,000 Administrative Overhead, 20% County, 40% State, 40% Federal.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract does not support any of the community outcomes established in the
Children's Report Card.

SUBJECT: CONTRACT AMENDMENT WITH AVA ESPINOZA FOR TRAINING
SERVICES.
BACKGROUND:
This contract provides the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) with
CaIWIN training services focusing on the processes for Employment Services for both
the Welfare to Work (WTW) and General Assistance (GA) programs. The contractor in
conjunction with EHSD previously conducted a needs assessment for the Workforce
Services Bureau (WFS) specific to the CaIWIN Employment Services Subsytem to
identify CaIWIN training needs and to develop and provide specific training to
employment services staff. (#19-274-3)
