HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02122008 - C.28 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra FROM: William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director CQSta By: Jacqueline Pigg, Contracts Administrator DATE: January 23, 2008 County SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Amendment#74-279-2 with Young Men's Christian Association of the East Bay(dba YMCA of the East Bay) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #74-279-2 with Young Men's Christian Association of the East Bay (dba YMCA of the East Bay), a non-profit corporation, effective December 1, 2007, to amend Contract #74-279-1, to increase the payment limit by $61,395, from $340,773 to a new payment limit of$402,168 with no change in the original term of July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008 and to increase the automatic extension through December 31, 2008, from $170,386 to $210,084. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 50% by Federal Medi-Cal, 46% by State Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT), and 4% by West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD). There is no cost to County. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This EPSDT program supports the following Board of Supervisors' community outcomes: "Children Ready For and Succeeding in School"; "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing"; and "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS). BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): This Contract meets the social needs of County's population in that it provides school and community based mental health services to County-designated Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) elementary, middle school, and high school students within the WCCUSD, and their families. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74-279-2 will allow the Contractor to provide additional services through June 30, 2008.
