There are currently 180 volunteers that graciously provided over 19,000 hours of work in 2008. These volunteers are involved in the foster program, community outreach, mobile adoptions, and other projects as assigned. Their good cheer and dedication imbue the Department with a positive attitude, caring for the animals and helping the community. Given the financial constraints the Department faces, the supplemental services provided by the volunteers are essential to carrying out the mission of the Department. The lunch for-the volunteers is scheduled for December 14 between 12:00—3:00. Although the volunteers give of their time freely, it is recommended that this one-time expenditure be approved to recognize their outstanding efforts and their importance to the Department's success.
